Today, I am having fun pattern bombing. This is a free global pattern bombing challenge organized by Make It In Design School. I have chosen to drop the 'colorful heart pattern bomb' to Kamppi Chapel. I first discovered the 'Chapel during a summer visit to Helsinki. From the outlook, I have no idea what the builiding was. I then, asked a local about the building and she explained that it was a Chapel.
After return from the trip, I googled about the Chapel annkd found out that the Chapel is known as the Kamppi Chapel . It is a Lutheran chapel in Kamppi, Helsinki, located on the Narinkka Square. It is also known as the "Chapel of Silence" since it is intended to be a place to calm down and have a moment of silence in one of the busiest areas in Finland.
The chapel was constructed as a part of the World Design Capital program in 2012. It was designed by architects Kimmo Lintula, Niko Sirola and Mikko Summanen of K2S Architects Ltd., and won the International Architecture Awards in 2010. (Source : Wikipedia)
I have chosen the 'heart shape pattern' as I think a chapel is a place where we calm ourselves, to worship and to connect and have fellowhship with others, who come to the Church. It all started from the heart.
Hello, thank you for dropping by. My blog is about my creative journey and what I love to do. This is the place where I will show my work, share my design inspirations and also what I encountered and discovered while travelling.
